Doesn't it seem like all hosting companies are singing the same tune? Described below are some of the more common areas of confusion and a few cautionary notes to keep in mind when choosing a hosting company.

1. Unlimited bandwidth

2. Uninterrupted uptime

3. Shared server

4. Security

1. Unlimited bandwidth

There are a lot of hosting companies out there that will promise you the world when it comes to bandwidth. Here are a few “unlimited bandwidth” schemes.

a. One of the most common is offering unlimited bandwidth but the connection barely has enough bandwidth left to push a 56k modem at full speed.
b. A great scam is an unlimited bandwidth claim.

2. Uninterrupted uptime

So your hosting company guarantees 99.9% uptime, wonderful, what does that mean? What happens if your server goes down, do you have this in writing? What does uptime mean to them and what does it mean to you. Take a good look at your agreement, if you have one. Teraspace guarantees your uptime or your money back. Check out the Teraspace 100% uptime Guarantee!

3. Shared server

How many people are you sharing your server with, and who are they? Some hosting companies will try and jam as many clients as possible into one server with very little or no concern for the performance of your website or email. Teraspace limits the amount of clients per server based on your sites best possible performance.

4. Security

I am sure you have heard all the terms such as “level 3” security, “secure entrance to the facilities”, all the alarm gadgets etc. Let us put it quite simply for you, unless you were meant to be in the Teraspace datacenter you are not getting in.
